Big Ten Media Day, Rich Rodriguez Comments on QB’s…
- Mark Snyder’s blog in the Detroit Free Press hits on how hungry this 2009 team is to erase the memories of an ugly ’08 3 month debacle that counts towards the record books as Michigan’s 2008 season.
“We let hundreds, if not thousands of people down last year. That was rough. So ‘hunger’ is definitely the word to describe us.”
Offensive lineman Mark Ortmann said that – and I’m assuming that this attitude is spread throughout the program in it’s entirety this season. Here is a quick video of Ortmann talking about this upcoming season’s offensive line.
- Rich Rodriguez had to be ready to get the hell out of Chicago and away from the Big Ten media events. This was never said, but come on, the man faced questions the entire time about how he’s going to recover from last season. Toss a little salt on that with a few questions about why players are leaving the team and I’m sure he was ready to head back to Ann arbor.
“Sometimes not everybody fits — either fits the university profile or fits your program and what you want to do — and so you move forward with the ones you have. But I’ve never worried about the guys who couldn’t play for us. I’ve worried about the ones that do.”
- Devin Gardner very well may be Michigan’s next 5 star recruit after his recent tear on the field at the Elite 11 camp. Seeing this guy in maize and blue will be exciting – at 6-5 and 210 lbs. – he brings some size that Michigan currently doesn’t have on the roster.
- Rich Rodriguez found a new buddy the other night and it wasn’t exactly somebody you would expect Rich Rod to get down with – a one Jamie Foxx!
- Rich Rod comments that Denard Robinson is going to only play at the quarterback position and will compete for the starting job right along side with Forcier and Sheridan. If used correctly, D Rob can be a stud with that blazing speed of his. Looking forward to seeing him in action.
