According to a report, Michigan is going to play UCONN on September 4th for next year’s season opener – officially the first game in the to be completed renovated Michigan Stadium. Michigan will make a return trip to Storrs, Connecticut in 2013 to finish out the home and home agreement. There has been all kinds of speculation this week about who Michigan might play, among the teams mentioned have been: Virgina, Pitt, Oklahoma State, Cal to name a few. I’m not sure anyone saw this coming.

Disappointed?

I honestly have to say that I am – and I have to assume most fans were expecting a program with a little more prestige than UCONN. Don’t get me wrong, this could be a tough game, but when I heard Rich Rodriguez talk about playing a home and home with a BCS opponent – was I thinking UCONN? Hell no. Oh well. It is what it is.
