Justin Turner Practicing & More Players Leaving

A full day of talking about Justin Feagin – because there is nothing better to talk about – leads into a night full of juicy, not so good but some decent news for Wolverine fans. Justin Turner is going to begin practice on Thursday – a very good thing for the Michigan defense. More players leaving, is not such a good thing for Michigan, RR and the program as a whole on Wednesday night. Marell Evans and Vince Helmuth weren’t going to have much of an impact on the field this season anyway, but this gives the RR hungry media more negative dirt-nastiness to throw at the state of the Michigan program. Evans, a junior linebacker and Helmuth a junior defensive tackle were both players recruited to play under Lloyd Carr that weren’t projected as starters for Rich Rod’s D this year.

Ideally, the next three weeks pass and Michigan beats Western Michigan. If this happens, people and the media quiet down a bit and what’s talked about is what’s on the field of play each and every Saturday. The Feagin thing lasted much longer than many thought it should have. Some other notes that are….noteworty

  • Teric Jones is taking his game to the defensive backfield at the corner position. Some other notes from the Free Press article…

Expected No. 1 tailback Brandon Minor sat out today’s practice with a headache and middle linebacker Obi Ezeh has been limited by a back injury. … Kelvin Grady, who came over from the basketball team, has impressed enough in the first few days that Rodriguez said Grady “is going to play for us this year… We have a position (slot receiver) that fits him perfectly.”

  • More from AnnArbor.com. RR expresses the need to find a legitimate kicker as K.C. Lopata has graduated.
